Training day 09-03-2013

Leg day.

I used to love leg days but lately my knee has been acting like horribly so it hinders what I can do on them. Its frustrating but I am determined to find a way to squat with minimal to no knee discomfort.

Today, I found that way, and I was a joyous fucking man.

BOX SQUAT
Set 1: 135 lbs × 10
Set 2: 225 lbs × 8
Set 3: 275 lbs × 10
Set 4: 275 lbs × 10
Set 5: 275 lbs × 10
Set 6: 275 lbs × 10
These were done wide stance to a slightly above parallel box. The key is the stance, sitting back hard and putting emphasis on the posterior chain and outer quad.
Easy weight, feeling it out this week before I start to hammer these.

HACK SQUAT
Set 1: 180 lbs × 15
Set 2: 180 lbs × 15
Set 3: 180 lbs × 15

The foot pad is big so I can push my feet towards the top, keep them very close and hit these no with no issue at all.

LEG PRESS
Set 1: 360 lbs × 20
Set 2: 360 lbs × 20
Set 3: 360 lbs × 20

Feet low, close together… teardrop massacre. Weight will go up soon, this is the first day of this type of volume and I am not THAT crazy as to push it to the max right away.

HAMSTRING CURLS
Set 1: 110 lbs × 20
Set 2: 110 lbs × 15
Set 3: 110 lbs × 15

LEG EXTENSION
Set 1: 110 lbs × 20
Set 2: 110 lbs × 20
Set 3: 110 lbs × 20

SEATED CALF RAISES
Set 1: 90 lbs × 20
Set 2: 90 lbs × 20
Set 3: 90 lbs × 20

Great workout, and it reminds me of just how much I miss training legs like this.
