I always preach moderation in progress, that the little steps count. I should listen to myself at times because I am far too hard on myself. Far too hard. This was my first true heavy DL session in over 5 months and instead of being happy with what I had, I pushed it to 600 because I wanted it.
Well I didn’t get it, for obvious reasons, and the biggest culprit was mental. I was upset with myself, irritated with my lifting and there wasn’t any rational reason for it.
Form was good, I just botched the lift because I thought about it too much. Stuff like “ok sit back and pull, stay on heels, etc” and I just plain shit the bed.
Oh well, next time… but next time I have to learn not to want to jump off a bridge over a failed lift.
Its been 5 months, 5, and I know better.
