Training day 07-28-2013

Started doing squats today but a burning sensation in my right knee on light weight so I knew it was a wash to squat.

This is why I squat once a week now, my body can’t handle two days of it anymore… its almost a pain in the ass but I work around it.

I was ready to hang it up and Matt Dawson, local ASC Strongman pro and local pretty boy (not as pretty as me) talked me out of it.

Good thing he did because I had a great workout.

LEG PRESS
Set 1: 180 lbs × 15
Set 2: 270 lbs × 12
Set 3: 270 lbs × 12
Set 4: 270 lbs × 12
Set 5: 270 lbs x 12
Used an upright leg press sled on this one. Hard machine and it almost mimics a squat movement in a way. I liked this one better than all the others because I could put my feet far up and take all the pressure off of my knees.

HAMSTRING CURLS
Set 1: 130 lbs × 12
Set 2: 130 lbs × 12
Set 3: 130 lbs × 12
Set 4: 130 lbs × 12

LEG EXTENSION
Set 1: 110 lbs × 15
Set 2: 110 lbs × 20
Set 3: 110 lbs × 20
Set 4: 110 lbs × 20

CHEST SUPPORTED ROW
Set 1: 100 lbs × 20
Set 2: 100 lbs × 20
Set 3: 100 lbs × 20
Set 4: 100 lbs × 20

SEATED CALF RAISES
Set 1: 90 lbs × 15
Set 2: 90 lbs × 15
Set 3: 90 lbs × 15

After the initial setback, things came together…
Plus today is high carb day and that was another motive to getting this shit done.
